A Stroll Through Foote Sanctuary Buderim, Sunshine Coast,

Foote Sanctuary of Buderim

01/01/2014

The Foote Sanctuary of Buderim covers 9 hectares (23 acres)

Quongdong tree, has blue fruit, pictured below....

Quongdong round and blue, 20 -30 mm across, with a seed with swirls ingrained in its shell. These are eaten whole by cassowaries, Woompoo pigeon and Spectacled flying foxes.
I'm not sure if the blue is edible for humans, although I do know the red has an edible flesh used for jam or as a dessert.

The Foote Sanctuary has several trails, easily marked and labeled as difficult, moderate and easy.
We took the moderate and easy paths, taking our time to look araound

 Gorgeous moss covered rocks

Hows this for forest canopy! Simply beautiful... but it was steamy.

And what this naked ole man tree....

Wander down 'Cascade Walk' ... but sadly there hasn't been much rain so far this summer.

Honestly, I never tire of this view.

 A sign of respect, perhaps...

 More rocks...

Never know what majik you'll find if you look close enough....
