One Sky

One Sky

Red sky at night

Sailors delight…

 an eerie red sun glowed in a carmine  sky….

Later that night heavy rain tumbled and clattered in the darkness

And the next day dawned as if trapped in a shiftless vacuum

A clear blue sky-roof stretched with lucid clarity as far as the eye could see

An air of hushed reverence seemed to pervade the world

One sun

one moon

one sky

Under this one sky…  the earth sighs …
under this one sky we are all  united with  the  Whole;

We are all blood and flesh and purpose, animal… plant… human… Earth.

We bleed and weep and howl and love

We grow and we die

 And when we glance up from our corners of this vast would

 We see one sun, one moon, one sky;

Under this sky, with moon and sun as our witness

With passing seasons marking out the passage of time

Under this sky, we come and go and flow with the rhythm of the Earth

Vast distances can hold hearts apart, but under this sky we are forever together;

In the soft peach of dawn blush, in the eye of the storm
in the breath of summer’s breeze

Regardless of day or season, place or time- You are home…

Wind-swept deserts that practice true silence

Verdant bowers in infinity green

Bursting shades of Springs wildflowers

The Earth’s heart-beat comforts midnight dreams

One Sun

One Moon

One Earth

One Sky

You are home.
